Metal flat ring applied to the installation site of desulfurization tower project
A chemical plant in Anshan, Liaoning replaced a batch of packing for desulfurization towers in September 2018. The previous pall ring used had a poor desulfurization effect. After talking with our technicians, we decided to replace it with a stainless steel 316L flat ring.
Metal flate ring, also called HQB ring, Supper Mini Ring、SMR, it is a short-opening ring type packing. It is a kind of packing with large flux, reduced pressure, high mass transfer efficiency, and high operating elasticity. Its structural feature is a height-diameter ratio of 0.2-0.4, which eliminates the flanging of the step ring. Inner bends are used to increase the strength of the filler, which can be arranged in an orderly manner when the pile is piled up, the flow channel structure is reasonable, the cymbal is reduced, and the processing capacity and mass transfer performance are greatly improved.
Symmetrically uniform inner curved ribs can promote the dispersion-party-re-dispersion cycle of the droplet group, effectively reduce the axial back mixing in the filler layer, and improve the liquid-liquid mass transfer performance. When these two kinds of fillers are used in the liquid-liquid extraction of low interfacial tension system, the performance is obviously better than that of the Bauer ring, and the mass transfer efficiency should be improved by more than 20%. When used for liquid-liquid extraction of medium interfacial tension systems, the performance of this packing is also significantly better than that of Bauer ring packing. Oblate packing is particularly suitable for liquid-liquid extraction processes and also suitable for gas-liquid mass transfer processes.
At present, the installation and commissioning work has been completed. According to customer feedback, the desulfurization effect has improved a lot compared with before, and the customer is very satisfied with it.
